I have a tutorial [link] , to explain how to use Photoshop to create line and shape in my wallpapers. i hope it will help you understand it better. is actually quite easy to do. I've rarely seen such a great flow and use of composition in such an minimalistic set of abstract wallpaper as those used in experiment Wallpapers by ~petercui. A fantastic pack for you to download! ( Suggested by `manicho and Featured by $zilla774 )

Sorry for double post, i've found this link which graphically explains the problem that i've tried to describe in previous post: [link]

So the correct term is banding lines :)

Unfortunately, I can't correct this problem myself since i don't have original .psd, so i can't edit those gradient layers. :(
